Predicting Their Next Lie

This is the beginning of a new series, in which I will predict what lie a politician will say to get out of an embarrassing (or possibly unlawful) situation.

Today's soon-to-be-liar: Gabe Neville, Chief of Staff to U.S. Rep. Joe Pitts (R-Penn.)

Backstory: Nancy Pelosi goes to Syria; White House goes full press to say what a bad thing that is; at the same time, Republican reps, including Joe Pitts, were in Syria - and the White House said nothing.

Now it looks as though the White House may have even actually helped arrange the trip for the republican group while dissing Pelosi about it. Chief of Staff Neville, speaking about his boss's trip, today told the Lancaster Intelligencer Journal, "It was done in cooperation with the administration."

Their Next Lie: Neville will within the next 24 hours say something equivalent in meaning to, "The trip wasn't done in cooperation with the White House." Simple. Straight forward. Lying. Maybe he'll even say: "They didn't even know about the trip." After which emails will be found proving that to be a lie.

The White House will get in on the lie and say they indeed knew nothing about the trip, or they'll use the Alberto GonzaLie: "The White House is a busy place. We didn't know that someone had helped with the trip."

Whichever the type of lie - there's lies a-coming.
