Email From a Fan in Thailand

Just noticed an email in ye olde email receptacle. I thought it was spam, naturally, but turns out it wasn't:
Dear Little Thom,

Hi. This is Kiattisak from Thailand. I found one of your songs 'Inside Joke' from a podcast of The Word Nerds, and liked it very much. I bought the song from iTunes Store last year, so it's been a while but I can sing along only roughly. May I ask you for its lyrics, please?

Best Wishes,
Kiattisak
Kiattisak is in Thailand, singing along with one of my songs, if unintelligibly at the moment, possibly right now. Take that, Bob Dylan!

Oh, wait...

Thank you Kiattisak. (And yes, I sent him the lyrics.)

"Go Ahead and Say It"

It's been years since I posted this song. One of my very favorites.

I'm Moving to Australia

Me and my other 5/8 are selling off most of what we own, putting a wee bit more in storage, heading off to New York to see and say goodbye to the dozens of members of my wonderful family, then, in December or so, we're headed to Sydney. Tin Tin is from there, and has wanted to go home for some time. I've already received a five-year permanent resident work visa. (I know that's an oxymoron, but that's what it says.)

I'll be writing still, only now as a freelancer rather than a staff writer. Tin Tin will be looking into acting, waking up her old agent skills, and making documentaries. And we will be making some books together, too.

After 20 years in little town, Oregon, this is a very big deal. A very big, very good, very exciting, downright freaky deal. (I'm going to go find me some platypi!)

On a very related note: Need a couple songs for the old electronic music device? This would be an exceptionally good time for a few thousand people to buy a song or two from my CD, Bottomfeeders. Please do go give a listen, I think you'll find something you like. (Over in the right sidebar there are many places to go for songs, including iTunes and Rhapsody.)

Thanks very much in advance.

P.S. Blogger has done some strange things with photos - it decided the center location and the size for that one. Oh well. It's a shot I took coming into Sydney in 2006. You can click to enlarge, and can see the harbor bridge and opera house right to the right of the bridge.

A Long Tough Blog Fundraiser

And by "Fundraiser" I mean "Buy a song or three to support LT and A Long Tough Blog!"

I've never done a fundraiser here, and I don't have advertising (aside from the "Amazon Song Choices" button). I've maintained this blog for five years to say this and that now and then and to provide a place where people can hear and buy my songs. If you are so inclined you are invited to buy some songs, or even the entire "Bottomfeeders" album, and perhaps to even tell a friend or two about this humble internet abode. My personal favorite song on the CD: "Sigh." Something special happened with that one.

You can see the PayPlay link below. For other internet outfits where you find the album, look under "Songs For Sale - Cheap!" up at the top right of the page.

My great thanks in advance.

Happy Birthday, A Long Tough Blog

Four years ago today this insipid silliness began. Woe be to the internets that it limps on still.

If you wish to help A Long Tough Blog celebrate this day of great lament, you can hop on over to any of the many music sites listed under "Songs for sale - cheap!" at the top right of the page (or just go to CDBaby by hitting the baby below) and purchase a song or three from my CD, Bottomfeeders. I suggest the song "Sigh," simply because it has the most musicians on it who aren't me.

Happy New Year everyone, and may 2011 indicate a much better decade than the last.

If you have a minute, go give it a listen, see if you find a song that suits you.

* This has been a blog advertising moment. Thanks for the time. *

Bottomfeeders

Look! You have an empty spot on your iTunes or iPod or whatever digital music device you have there. That empty spot wants a song, nay, it needs a song. Look - there are some songs right down there! Only 88 cents a pop! That's good luck!

There are of course many other internet outfits that you can get my songs from. Look under "Vital Links" up at the top right of the page.

Thanks. That's all.

My Music on a Yoga Podcast

It was a year and a half ago, but it's still nice to see and unexpected. Thanks, Yogapeeps, I appreciate it.

This goes straight to the audio for "Sigh", which they play a fair bit of to start the show.

You can get that song or the entire CD, Bottomfeeders, at CDBaby,
Hit the baby and go get the Little Thom CD, Bottomfeeders, at the great Portland, Oregon, internet store, iTunes or PayPlay or many others up over there at the top right under Vital Links.

P.S. What the hell? I'm at Walmart.com. How did that happen?

I have some research to do. Update: Done. CDBaby gets its artists on Walmart. Good for them.

I Can't Wait to Do a Tracheotomy for Valentines

Need a special song for your special friend tomorrow? Might I suggest one from the LT iTunes catalogue? "I Can't Wait to Do a Tracheotomy" is hands down the best love song I've ever penned. Hands down. Like tied down. It's possibly the best love song ever penned (containing references to salmon, windpipes, and cotton balls).

If you prefer an online establishment other than iTunes, such as Rhapsody or Bitmunk for your digital music purchasing, please acquaint yourself with the "Vital Links" on the top right of the page.

And a very blissful Valentines Day to you.

LT on iTunes

Programming note: Heartfelt thanks to the folks who've bought single songs and full CDs via iTunes and Rhapsody over the last many months. (Other buying options at the top right of the page.) I'm not a big seller, as you might imagine, and each sale is noticed and enjoyed. Hope you enjoy it more.
