Spitzer Will NOT Get Fed. Indictment

I just wanted that prediction on the record. Eliot Spitzer will not be indicted on federal charges, and not because he's rich and powerful. He won't be indicted because the Feds don't want the scrutiny regarding how the case started and, mostly, why it required such massive attention.

He may be fined for soliciting prostitutes, but that's it. That's my prediction.

Update: "Oy" is right. Hell, I could be very wrong.







Congratulations, Governor Paterson

The Spitzer story sucks, but every suck has its silver tongue. Or something.

Let's say the good/bad governor of New York resigns today, as some are saying. [Spitzer will speak at 11:30 a.m.] If that's true, then some pretty exciting history is going to be made.

Lt. Governor David Paterson will become the first African-American governor of New York state in history. He'll also be just the fourth black governor ever in the U.S.

On top of that, he will be the first legally blind governor in history.

Once again, congratulations to David Paterson. (Let's hope he's not Client #8.)

And what does it mean when the NYT says Spitzer told his staff he "had been involved in a prostitution ring"? He was in the business?
