Health Care Boogie Men

You know all that scary stuff they're saying about Obama's (and anyone else's for decades now) health care proposal? They said that about Medicare. Here's Ronald Reagan being more wrong than one would think humanly possible:

According to Reagan, Medicare would lead federal officials to dictate where physicians could practice medicine, and open the door to government control over where Americans were allowed to live. In fact, Reagan warned that if Medicare became law, there was a real possibility that the federal government would control where Americans go and what they do for a living.

He said that about Medicare. Freaking Medicare. Show that video to someone you know who's on Medicare right now, and ask them what they think.

Next time you hear someone spouting the health care boogie man bullshit, ask them, "Why do you want to be as stupid as Ronald Reagan?" When they sputter, walk away.
