Drudge's Race-war Bait

Famed internet slimy person Matt Drudge has the all-caps blaring today with the headline "White Student Beaten on Bus; Crowd Cheers".

And?

When I was in school and a fight broke out - everybody cheered. Or nearly everybody, anyway. Unfortunately, you could say, it's what kids do.

And where in the hell was the bus driver?

ACORN! ACORN!

Drudge and the army of lies that is the engine of the Modern Right are screaming about this story, carrying on their neverending war on the good people at ACORN. What they won't point you to is this, from the very story they link to:

Miami-Dade State Attorney Katherine Fernández Rundle praised ACORN.

"We've been very aggressive about a lot of these cases,'' she said. "But we would not have known about these workers unless ACORN brought it to us."

[Among its many other services for poor Americans] ACORN hires people to register primarily poor, minority Americans. The Modern Right hates them for that. (Why? You decide.) Sometimes the people they hire are lazy liars, and they fill out registration forms with names they've made up in order to make money for less work than actually registering people. ACORN look out for these people, and they notify authorities when they find them. Professional liars like Drudge and Malkin then point to these cases and try to use them against ACORN. Why?

You decide.

Poor Drudge

It is increasingly hilarious to see what Matt Drudge chooses to post at the Drudge Report. His purpose in life shines through so clearly. The first two items up right now:

NAACP criticizes use of 'plantation-like' Trail Maids in Inaugural Parade...

5,000 port-o-potties planned for day 'grossly inadequate'; Lawsuit warning...

Dude can not get over the fact that even though he rules the world he could not stop the election of Barack Obama as president of the U.S. of A. So now he's gotta post about Trail Maids and porta-potties to make Obama pay. Ouch.

What else? Well, topping the left hand column we have:

Sharp cold wave shocks upper Midwest, temps to -36...

If it's cold somewhere - you'll hear all about it on the Grudge Report. Why? Because it proves that global warming is a hoax. Note to Grudge: It proves it even more if you put your fingers in your ears and say "La la la la la la la la" really loud AND find somewhere cold. In Winter. Honest, it does.

Next one is funny:

Iranian protesters burn Obama picture...

Ha ha! Take that Mr. "Everybody Likes Me"! Iranian protesters like so totally hate your ass...um...

Hey, Matt, I thought Obama was a Muslim. You played that card for months, and now you give us "Iranian protesters burn Obama picture"? What the hell?

Hey look - it's a story about Hillary Clinton! Along with what a completely unrelated and unflattering photo! Wow! That one never gets old!...

Note: Photo of giant turd taken from Gumtree Forums.

Icky Girls Have Sex Diseases

Into the mind of Matt Drudge for a mercifully short moment. (I promise.)

The results of a Center for Disease Control study were released yesterday:

One In Four Teenage Girls In U.S. Has Sexually Transmitted Disease, CDC Study Shows

Matt Drudge's headline for it:

Study: 25 percent of teen girls have sex diseases...

Uh, dude. You've really got issues.

Drudge Headlines

Hilarious. Drudge links to this story with the headline:

Clinton Library Got Funds From Abroad; Saudis Said to Have Given $10 Million...

To be fair, the WaPo does have "Clinton Library Got Funds From Abroad" as their headline, but for Drudge to add the line about the Saudis, and leave out what comes in the second sentence of the story is just too funny:

Bill Clinton's presidential library raised more than 10 percent of the cost of its $165 million facility from foreign sources, with the most generous overseas donation coming from Saudi Arabia, according to interviews yesterday.

The royal family of Saudi Arabia gave the Clinton facility in Little Rock about $10 million, roughly the same amount it gave toward the presidential library of George H.W. Bush, according to people directly familiar with the contributions.

Why doesn't the headline say, "Bush Sr. Got Funds From Abroad"?

Whatever.

"Twin Survives Several Abortion Attempts!"

In Matt Drudge's world, the truth is like Playdo - something malleable, meant to be stretched and flattened and mashed and molded, and, most of all, something to be treated with the same respect you'd give a 99 cent toy.

The story that Drudge deemed worthy of that headline:

When doctors found that Gabriel was weaker than his brother, with an enlarged heart, and believed he was going to die in the womb, his mother Rebecca Jones had to make a heartbreaking decision.

Doctors told her his death could cause his twin brother to die too before they were born, and that it would be better to end Gabriel's suffering sooner rather than later.

So, doctors recommend to an expectant mother a course of action to save one of her babies, one that requires a deeply difficult and deeply personal choice. The course of action recommended, and agreed to by the mother: an abortion. And Drudge decides this would be a good anti-abortion story.

And the "several" abortion attempts:

Mrs Jones decided to let doctors operate to terminate Gabriel's life.

Firstly they tried to sever his umbilical cord to cut off his blood supply, but the cord was too strong.

They then cut Mrs Jones's placenta in half so that when Gabriel died, it would not affect his twin brother.

But after the operation which was meant to end his life, tiny Gabriel had other ideas.

Two. That's "several" in Matt Drudge's basement universe.

- Best of health and happiness to mom and two baby boys. It is a hell of a story.
