Sister Rosetta Thorpe

Heard a story about her this morning on NPR. They played a song of hers from the 1940s, with a threesome backing her up - "Strange Things Happen Every Day." Such a great song. For all the arguments I've heard over the years about who invented rock and roll, I've never heard Sister Rosetta Thorpe's name mentioned. The video below shows why she should be. This is the mid- or late-40s. Unbelievable. (And oh Lord, Sister Rosie has a MySpace page.)
