Has the "dumped yesterday" email from Kyle Sampson been seen before?
Today TPM Muckraker, the NYTimes, and the Washington Post, as well as many others, are talking about a document dumped last night [correction - today] - an email from January 9, 2006, from Kyle Sampson to Harriet Miers and William Kelly at the White House - in which Sampson provides a list of possible appointees to replace the USAt.s.
Jump back a week: In this post we learned that Samuel Lipari of Medical Supply Chain said he had discovered an email from January 9, 2006, from Kyle Sampson to Harriet Miers and William Kelly at the White House. It showed a list of ten - not the oft-said eight - U.S. Attorneys who were to be replaced, Lipari said. One of them was the USAt. for his own district, Todd P. Graves. Graves resigned - or was fired - shortly afterwards, severely crippling, according to Mr. Lipari, an investigation into massive Medicare fraud.
Different angles on the email, but this is worth noting. And it may get Lipari's story, laid out here last week, some more publicity. Sure seems like it should.
A Lipari story from the Ft. Worth Daily on April 11, 2007.

A very accurate observation! I will give you another clue. This scandal is about $40-$80 Billion a year. It is all in the record and the facts. Transparency is going to bring down the house. I will release more content as the opportunities permit. SL~
