What's Wrong With American Media, in a Nutshell

Someone can say, on a popular television news program, that that the Taliban should just go ahead and execute an American soldier, and have no fear of not being invited back.

Once upon a time such a person could never make it to TV in the first place. Today it's seemingly a core principle of Fox News, and the other cable news networks too often (not to mention talk radio), to search for and regularly feature people like that.
